How to use Whisper?
Simply download and install the application for your platform, run it on devices in the same local network and they will automatically discover and connect to each other.
What file types are supported?
All file types are supported with no size limit, but please be mindful of available local storage space.
How fast is the transfer speed?
Transfer speed depends on your local network bandwidth. It typically utilizes the full network bandwidth, resulting in very fast transfers.
Is the data transfer secure?
Since it's designed for local device use, encryption is not currently implemented. Please avoid transferring sensitive data. Encrypted transfer may be added in future updates.
Is resume support available for interrupted transfers?
Yes. Large file transfers can resume after reconnecting.
Can Whisper share desktop audio?
Yes. Desktop system audio sharing is supported. Linux needs PulseAudio or PipeWire Pulse compatibility.
Can PC version control mouse/keyboard of another desktop?
Yes. macOS, Windows, and Linux desktops can act as source or receiver. Linux currently requires X11.

The interface is clean and intuitive. I love how I can just drag and drop files to transfer. The speed is impressive for LAN file sharing, and it has become my go-to tool for local network transfers.
